Say what you will about director Bryan Singer’s lastest BSG reboot-reboot movie and critically-panned Superman Returns, the director loves his scifi genre. So much so that he’s starting his own scifi web series.
You gotta hand it to Singer – he’s really ticking off everything on the “things to make” list. Movies, television and now this. Details on the project are scarce, but in an interview with SciFi Wire Stewart Hendler spilled the beans:
I’m doing a Web series with Bryan Singer and Warner Brothers which I can’t talk about. I’m under NDA. It’s sci-fi, it’s set in the future, and it’s got a Lost vibe to it. That’s kind of all I can say, unfortunately. It’s super top secret.
It’s strange to hear such a big name associated with web video. Maybe Singer’s merely promoting it? Either way I’m getting about as tired of hearing Lost used as a descriptive term for a new piece of genre material as I am hearing new movies being described as BladeRunner-esque.
