Whether you’re a wind enthusiast, a cartography connoisseur or just a bored person online, Windyty is a website you’ll likely have a good time messing around with.

Created by Ivo, “an addicted kiter, helicopter and jet pilot, who seeks the wind, waves, METARs and powder snow almost constantly,” Windyty is an interactive map that allows you to check out wind patterns, temperature, and other meteorological phenomena around the globe.

Get lost in the pretty swirls or try to track potential hurricanes and typhoons. You can take advantage of all Windyty’s fun features here.

WAITAMINUTE! Those winds are going the wrong way!

99.999999% of the time (fairly accurate statistic) the winds around here come out of the west-ish and head to the east-ish direction.

Oh. Yeah. They really ARE going the wrong way right now!

Cool site.

[aside - my CPU temperature went up 5 degrees C and graphics card temp went up 10 degrees C when visiting the site - normally both CPU/graphics are loafing around with mundane surfing...not there!]
