While all the box office talk lately seems to be concentrated around horror upstarts and Christopher Nolan, the superheroes of summer are here to remind you they’d very much like your business too. Tickets for Supergirl have officially gone on sale, with James Gunn himself getting the word out on social media with the help of this new teaser from DC Studios.
Craig Gillespie directs, and Milly Alcock stars as Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl. She’s already dealing with some heavy emotional baggage (unlike her more well-adjusted cousin, Superman) when she’s plunged into an interstellar adventure that involves both revenge and the fight to save her beloved pup, Krypto.
Jason Momoa aims to crush all memories of his DC past playing Aquaman with his new role as Lobo; Matthias Schoenaerts plays the big bad, Krem of the Yellow Hills; and David Corenswet will pop up as the Man of Steel, returning the favor after Alcock’s brief but memorable appearance in 2025’s Superman.
Will moviegoers want a break from low-budget tales of terror crafted by YouTube-trained disruptors and embrace the shiny Hollywood product they once couldn’t get enough of? Supergirl arrives on June 26 with high hopes of finding out. Will you be picking up early tickets for this one?
