Take a Mind-Melting Trip through 1960s Psychedelics (NSFW)

And that's why you don't take the brown acid. This startling short film by Spectacle Theater starts off benignly before jolting the viewer into a fractured cascade of '60s pop culture iconography. Be sure to watch it with the lights on.

Update: Per Greg Eggebeen of Spectacle Theater,

In actuality, the video isn't a 'short film' per se, but a trailer for a series of screenings that we're doing of the 60s filmmaker Etienne O'Leary at Brooklyn micro-cinema Spectacle Theater this April. I didn't have any text added to the Vimeo page at the time, but all the info about the screenings is here.

Acid stories. go.
We were sitting on a park bench smoking cigarettes and talking about trees and leaves late one night along a trail behind some condos along a creek when we heard a terrible roaring noise steadily growing. We looked up to see a huge airplane with more lights than an airplane ought to have passing overhead very slowly and very low. It took about a minute or so for it to pass over us, and I'd say it was a few hundred feet. maybe 1000 feet overhead.. and then it turned around and came back for another pass. We looked at each other, verified that we both just saw the same thing, and then quickly got the hell out of there. We still don't have an explanation. I think they knew.
