New details have surfaced about the live-action Star Wars TV series that Lucasfilm had a mountain of scripts for, but was too expensive to produce. First off, it was going to be called Star Wars: Underworld, and, like the recently announced stand-alone movie, it was also going to follow the adventures of young Han Solo.

The info comes from director Stephen Scaia, who wrote some of those TV scripts, and revealed the details on his Kickstarter for an Indiana Jones fan film starring Stargate SG-1's Simone Bailey and Psyche's Timothy Omundson (it is an admittedly odd place to drop this knowledge). Scaia says Underworld would have covered major events in young Han's life, like meeting Chewbacca, winning the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian and more...

...which is likely all stuff we'll now be seeing in the young Han Solo stand-alone film from Disney. I wonder if they're cobbling together the story directly from the Underworld scripts, or just taking the same character beats? Either way, I think this probably puts the final nail in the coffin for the live-action Star Wars TV show. If there's only one canon, then they're not going to be able to tell Han's origin story twice, right?
