This is Gary. And in this delightful bit of marketing from Toshiba, we get to see him downgraded to an adorable 8-bit version of himself. I’m sorry, did I say downgraded? I meant we should all be so lucky.
The short was directed by the Docter Twins, and filmed a former Lockheed Martin aerospace research facility. The 8-bit Gary costume—which reportedly took over 3,000 hand-cut foam boxes to create—is clearly the highlight here, no matter how much upconverting Toshiba Satellite laptops do. In fact, I can think of more than a few movies in my collection that might actually benefit from a little bleep bloop. [Design Taxi]
