Well, of course famed movie rip-off artists The Asylum were going to take on Pacific Rim, and of course their attempt would be called Atlantic Rim. What I wasn’t expecting that it would look actually kinda good.
Okay, not good, exactly — especially not after today’s new Pacific Rim trailer — but good for the Asylum, that’s for sure. Here’s the real question: Do the giant robots in this thing look like Chinese bootleg toy robots on purpose, or is it just a happy coincidence? Because if it’s the former, that’s genuinely brilliant.
