Francis Lawrence gives an update on BioShock. DC’s Slade Wilson/Bane team-up movie gets a new title. Mikey Madison discusses her “fun and crazy” remake of The Masque of the Red Death. There’s much of the beautiful, much of the wanton, much of the bizarre, something of the terrible, and not a little of that which might have excited disgust in today’s Morning Spoilers!
The Mummy 4
During a recent interview with Attitude, Michael Johnston confirmed he’s playing a “new character” who is not Rick and Evie’s son in The Mummy 4.
It’s a new character, but the film is just returning to its original formula. It’s just like that first film. It’s going to give the fans exactly what they want. Rick and Evie are back.
We’re going on an adventure again. It’s so exciting. The film rips. It just goes immediately. It’s truly an action film. It’s fight scenes and chase scenes and running through the streets.
I’m working with stunt guys and I’m like, ‘Wait, you’re gonna let me do this?’ It’s going to be honest to the original film.
Bad Toys
Variety reports Rooster Teeth’s Matt Hullum and Burnie Burns are attached to direct Bad Toys, a Christmas-set horror-comedy “inspired by ‘medieval Christmas elf folklore.’ The film reportedly asks, “What if a mischievous Christmas elf brought you what you wanted when you were nice, but made you regret what you asked for if you were naughty?”
BioShock
Francis Lawrence confirmed he’s still working on the script of the BioShock movie during a recent interview with GamesRadar+.
We’re still working on a script and I think we’re pretty close, and I’m feeling really good about it. Yeah, I would love to make it. I’ve been like dying to. I’ve been working at it. I’ve been trying.
Untitled Alfonso Cuarón Project
At a recent press conference attended by Dispatch (via Bloody-Disgusting), Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Children of Men, A Little Princess, Great Expectations, Y tu mamá también) revealed his next film will be a horror movie.
I am writing a new screenplay. A story in the horror genre…It is very interesting.
Savage Hunters
According to Deadline, DC’s upcoming animated movie starring Deathstroke and Bane is now titled Savage Hunters. Unfortunately, no further details are currently available.
The Masque of the Red Death
Speaking with Screen Rant, Mikey Madison stated you can expect her “fun and crazy” new film adaptation of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Masque of the Red Death sometime next year, but admits, “I don’t even know if I quite understand it yet.”
I think next year, definitely. I’m so excited for people to see that. Again, it’s something completely different than I’ve ever done before in terms of this medieval time period, and the tone is beyond anything I have ever read before. I don’t even know if I quite understand it yet, but it’s at times very slapstick and very dramatic and interesting and weird. I play two characters, and it was fun. It was really fun and crazy.
Crossed
Bloody-Disgusting has the first trailer for Rob Jabbaz’s film adaptation of Garth Ennis and Jacen Burrows’ highly controversial comic book, Crossed, starring Devin Druid, Ash Santos, Ethan Jones Romero, Kyla Hee, Chido Nwokocha, Spenser Granese, Bob Morley, Ana Mulvoy Ten, Steven Hack, Lorenzo Ross, Owen Harn, Fedor Steer, Kelvin Adekunle, Angie Campbell, and Peter Falls.
The Awakening

Christmas at the Kringles
