The Virtual Boy Arcade Cabinet that Never Existed

The Nintendo Virtual Boy was over before it ever really got a chance to show what it couldn't do. But that doesn't mean that someone, somewhere isn't building an arcade cabinet temple for the aborted console.

Creator Tighe Lory took his inspiration from the Atari Battlezone cabinet, opting for two joysticks instead of D-pads, and mounting the Virtual Boy display at standing eye level (which is adjustable). And then little flourishes—the vinyl graphics, the replica Nintendo serial plate and general attention to detail—puts the entire project over the top, and has me wanting to play the thing.
