The World's Biggest Water Balloon Fight Will Make Anyone Smile

120,000 water balloons, 4,000 happy people, and one very cute song. If the combination of those things doesn't bring a smile to your face, then I don't know what will.

This is the music video for a song called "You Always Make Me Smile" by Kyle Andrews and in it we're seeing an attempt to break the record for the world's biggest water ballon fight. The folks of Guinness World Records still need to approve that claim, but in the meantime this still looks like one happy way to spend the day. [Kyle Andrews]

Who was the previous record holder?

I went to Rice, and we have this annual thing called Beer Bike, and I was always told it's one of the biggest (if not the biggest) water balloon fight in the world.

3000 undergrad students spend 2-3 months filling up water balloons in the bathrooms. The 9 dorms (now there are 10 or 11 residential colleges that everyone, both on and off campus, are assigned to) each rent two huge flatbed trucks (the dump truck size) and load up at least 20 huge plastic trash cans filled with water and water balloons.

I know the school paper is probably not a verified source as a professional newspaper would be, but I think my university should contact Guinness to straight this out. This article is also from almost a decade ago:
