The WSJ on the Nokia 6800

Review over at the Wall Street Journal of Nokia’s new 6800 cellphone, the one that flips open to reveal a keyboard:

The keyboard seems awkward at first, especially because it’s divided by the screen. But in my tests over the past few days, I quickly got used to it. Holding one side in each palm and using my thumbs to type, I was able to work as speedily and accurately as I do on a Treo or BlackBerry. It’s not for touch typists, but none of these little keyboards is.

The only problem, apparently, is that while the design of the 6800 is great, the software inside of it isn’t very good, making sending an email more of a hassle than it needs to be. But there is one gem hidden at the bottom of the story. The next version of the 6800 will incorporate RIM’s BlackBerry email capability, so sending and receiving email should get much, much easier.
