Not all the food we produce is eaten — so just what are we doing with it all?

This graph from the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization looks at just where all the food produced globally goes. About half goes into our actual food supply, but a just slightly smaller portion goes to feeding livestock. The other significant factor is, of course, food waste — whether in our kitchens or much earlier in the supply chain.
