This 13-foot-long (4 meters), 3.2-foot-tall (1 meter) Lego model of an Erickson Air-Crane helicopter is truly outstanding. It is not as big as the 22-foot-long, 330-pound, 200,000-brick Lego battleship Yamato—still the largest Lego model ever built—but the engineering of this helo is extraordinary.

It's extremely difficult to create such a mahoosive model with just a few ground contact points. Hell, the rotor blades are stunning just by themselves. The helo was built by Ryan McNaught over the course of a month and it uses about 100,000 pieces. [Flickr]
