This “villain dresses up” song is like a crackpipe jammed in your skull

You only wish you could get dressed with one 1/100th as much frenzied panache as Dr. Terwilliger in this insane musical number from the 1953 Dr. Seuss movie The 5000 Fingers of Dr. T. Seriously, just when you think it’s gone too far… it goes farther.

This is the crucial “Doe-Me-Doe Duds” song in which Dr. T gets dolled up in preparation for conducting his piano symphony, made up of 500 boys. They really don’t make supervillains like this any more. [via Eileen Gunn, who argues this is a woefully underappreciated example of a “so bad it’s good” movie.]
