Toshiba Shows Off New microSD Cards

These new Toshiba cards are 256MB, 512MB and 1GB and are primarily used for cellphones and portable audio players. The two lower capacity cards will be available in July, and the 1GB card in August.

You know, we’d prefer larger phones and music players if it meant that manufacturers could standardize on one format and pump more storage capacity into it. Is an SD card too big? How about miniSD? Did they really have to make microSD?
