The original launch of SpaceX's redesigned Falcon 9 rocket was planned for just a few days ago on Monday—but that mission was scrubbed at the last minute due to a technical glitch. It was sad for those who tuned in at the beginning of the week to watch the livestream, but the good news is that right now SpaceX is making another attempt with a 65-minute launch window that started at 5:39pm EST.
The second attempt has gotten off to a bit of a rocky start, with an emergency engine shutdown happening just seconds before launch—but it looks like SpaceX hasn't completely scrubbed today's attempt just yet. And if the Falcon 9 doesn't launch today, the team has another window scheduled for tomorrow starting at the exact same time.
Update: Today's second launch attempt was aborted about 60 seconds before launch, which will be the last attempt for the day. And despite the SpaceX team being hopeful about making another attempt tomorrow evening, according to Elon Musk via Twitter at this point they're going to have to bring the rocket down for inspection, which means the next launch attempt won't happen for at least a few more days.
