Getting excited for the World Cup? The whole world is! So much so that they’re doing ridiculous things like playing soccer with flaming coconuts that basically shoot out flames whenever they kick it around. Oh and they’re doing all that kicking barefoot.
It’s not just for the World Cup, Indonesians apparently love playing this fireball game as a test of strength (and craziness). The coconuts are soaked for two days and as many as four flaming coconuts can be used in one game. News Track India says, “the aim of the pre-match rituals, and the match itself, is to give the players’ psychological toughness and spiritual strength.”
