Starting in 1977 with Star Wars and moving all the way until last year with Gravity, this video covers all the Academy Awards winners for best visual effects. It's a wonderful walk through movie history and revealing to see how much more realistic movies have gotten through fake computer generated effects.
One thing though, Star Wars still looks so visually impressive in this lineup even though it's the oldest movie. Actually, to be honest, a lot of movies still stand the rough test of time. The compilation clip was made by Nelson Carvajal and really, it covers pretty much all of our favorite movies (since so many of our favorite movies have a sci-fi bend to them).
