Americans stream Sunday Night Football, Premier League matches, NBA games, and shows like The Office and Love Island USA on Peacock. Cross the border, though, and the same account shows a message saying Peacock isn’t available in your region. Vacationers in Cancún, Americans working in London, and expats see it too, even with a fully paid US subscription.
The block comes from your IP address, which tells Peacock what country you’re connecting from. Since most US TV channels abroad use the same check, a US IP address solves it for Peacock and the others, and setup takes only a few minutes.
Stream Peacock From Abroad in 2026

Why Peacock Doesn’t Work Outside the US
Peacock’s Terms of Use limit the service to the United States and its territories. For that reason, Peacock checks your IP address when the site or app loads. When the IP address isn’t American, a region message appears in place of the home screen.
The same Terms prohibit subscribers from concealing their location, and Peacock reserves the right to verify where viewers are. That wording doesn’t name VPNs, and there’s no exception for travel either. Comcast also has no plans for a wider launch. In fact, co-CEO Mike Cavanagh said in March 2026 that “domestic is our path” for Peacock.
Where Peacock Works Without a VPN
Peacock also covers five US territories: Puerto Rico, Guam, the US Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, and American Samoa. Because they count as part of the US, viewers there don’t require a VPN.
How to Watch Peacock Abroad With a VPN
A VPN connects you to a server in another country, and websites see that server’s IP address in place of yours. So when you connect to a US server, Peacock treats you as a US viewer. We used NordVPN for the walkthrough, although Proton VPN and ExpressVPN follow the same steps.
1. Subscribe and Install the VPN
Sign up on NordVPN’s website, then install it on your laptop, phone, or streaming device. After that, sign in with the email and password from your subscription.
2. Connect to a US Server
Search for the United States in the server list, or choose a US city such as New York. In our November tests, Peacock played on New York, Chicago, and Miami servers with NordVPN, Proton VPN, and ExpressVPN, and it didn’t detect any of them. 3. Sign In and Press Play
Go to peacocktv.com or the Peacock app and sign in. As soon as Peacock sees a US IP address, the home screen, live channels, and on-demand library appear as they do in the US.
Can You Watch Peacock in Mexico?
Not without a VPN. Peacock has never launched in Mexico, and its Terms cover only the US and its territories. As a result, Americans on vacation in Cancún or living in Mexico City see the region message when they sign in. Still, the same steps work from Mexico, and Miami is the nearest US city in our tests.
Instead, NBCUniversal sells Universal+ in Latin America. It offers live channels and on-demand series, and it has streamed Peacock originals such as Poker Face and The Traitors. In Mexico, you can subscribe through Prime Video Channels, izzi, or Claro video, from about MXN 89 a month.
Sports are a different story, though. Premier League matches in Mexico air on Fox and on TNT Sports, which streams through HBO Max. On November 22, 2026, the Vikings play the 49ers in Mexico City in the first international Sunday Night Football game.
Although the game is played in Mexico, Peacock streams it only in the US, and viewers in Mexico require a US server to watch it there. For the other American services, see our guide to US TV in Mexico.
How to Pay for Peacock From Abroad
Peacock requires a US card or PayPal. Because of that, a card issued outside the US fails at checkout. Americans abroad have it easier, though, because an existing subscription keeps working once the VPN connects, and Peacock bills the card on file as usual. Digital Peacock gift cards are the other method.
However, they only pay for Premium and Premium Plus bought directly from Peacock, and they can’t be used for the Select plan or for app store purchases. There’s no free option either, because Peacock closed its free tier to new users in January 2023. Since then, every new account has required a paid plan.
Peacock Plans and Prices in 2026
Peacock increased the price of every plan on August 18, 2026. Live sports start at Premium, while the Select plan also leaves out movies and Peacock Originals.

A yearly plan costs about the same as ten months of monthly billing, which saves roughly two months. Even so, ads still appear on Premium Plus in channels, live sports and events, and a few shows and movies. Peacock also sells Apple TV bundles at $17.99 a month with Premium and $22.99 with Premium Plus.
Peacock in the UK and Other Countries
Peacock isn’t available in the UK. Sky and NOW offered it until January 9, 2024, but it never had a standalone British app. After the closure, its shows moved to Sky’s own channels, hayu, and ITVX. - UK sports: Premier League matches are on Sky Sports and TNT Sports instead.
- Europe: SkyShowtime, a Comcast and Paramount joint venture, streams Peacock and Paramount+ programming in 22 European markets. In September 2026, though, its owners began reviewing the service’s future.
- Australia: BINGE and Foxtel have the Australian rights to new scripted Peacock originals, under a deal extended in September 2026.
- Canada: Peacock has no Canadian service.
Live Sports on Peacock This Season
These events require Premium or Premium Plus and a US IP address:
- NFL: every Sunday Night Football game, plus a Peacock-exclusive game on January 2, 2027.
- NBA: the 2026-27 season starts October 20, and Peacock NBA Monday follows from October 26.
- Premier League: 200+ matches a season, with Multiview for watching several at once.
- College football: Big Ten and Notre Dame games.
- WWE: the Saturday Night’s Main Event specials. Pay-per-views moved to ESPN in 2025.
Peacock on Roku, Smart TVs, and Consoles Abroad
Peacock has apps for Fire TV, Apple TV, Android TV, Roku, Samsung and LG TVs, PlayStation, and Xbox. But VPN support is narrower. When a device supports VPN apps, such as Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV, you install the VPN there as you would on a phone.
Roku, PlayStation, Xbox, and most Samsung and LG TVs don’t support VPN apps, though. For these devices, install the VPN on your router, or use Smart DNS, which changes only the location streaming services see. NordVPN and ExpressVPN offer Smart DNS, while Proton VPN doesn’t. Fixing Peacock Errors on a VPN
Most Peacock problems on a VPN come from old location data or a detected server, and they’re quick to fix:
- Region message after connecting: clear Peacock’s cookies and cache, then reload the page.
- Error on one server only: connect to a server in another US city instead.
- App error while the browser works: close the Peacock app completely, then relaunch it after the VPN connects.
- Ad blocker warning: pause the VPN’s ad blocker while you watch.
- Failed payment: switch to PayPal or a US card, because Peacock accepts only those.

However, the renewal price is noticeably higher than the first term. Choosing the 27-month plan keeps the lower price for as long as possible. NordVPN starts at $3.49 a month on the Basic plan when you commit to 27 months, and after that, yearly renewals are $139.08.

Proton VPN unblocked Peacock on its US servers too. Its US server kept 173.68 Mbps in our speed tests, which is comfortably enough for live sports in HD. Independent auditors have also checked its no-logs policy, and its Stealth protocol helps on networks that block VPN traffic. Unlike NordVPN and ExpressVPN, Proton VPN doesn’t offer Smart DNS.
As a result, a Roku or a console requires a router install, while Fire TV and Apple TV devices support its app directly. Proton VPN Plus costs $2.99 a month with a two-year commitment, and then it renews at $83.88 a year.

ExpressVPN unblocked Peacock and kept 177.03 Mbps on a US server. It also offers three ways to put Peacock on a TV: the MediaStreamer Smart DNS feature, a router app, and an Apple TV app. Advanced settings are limited, though Peacock doesn’t require any.
Still, renewal is pricier than the first term, and the 28-month plan keeps the discount longest. At $2.99 a month over 28 months, ExpressVPN’s Basic plan costs about a quarter of Peacock Premium. When the term ends, the yearly renewal costs $99.95.
Free VPNs for Peacock
Windscribe and PrivadoVPN also unblocked Peacock on their free plans in our streaming tests. These free plans include US servers and up to 10 GB of data a month, which covers a few hours of HD video. On the other hand, Proton VPN’s free plan assigns servers at random and didn’t unblock Peacock.
Summary
Peacock remains a US-only service, and Comcast plans to keep it that way. Still, the method from abroad is short: connect a VPN to a US server, sign in, and use a US card or PayPal for a new subscription. In our tests, New York, Chicago, and Miami servers worked, and Peacock didn’t detect a VPN.
