The Young Han Solo Star Wars spinoff movie won’t hit theaters for two and a half years, but apparently Lucasfilm is getting very close to hiring a star. The reason? He may have some work to do very soon.

Minor spoilers for the Star Wars universe follow.

Variety reports that Lucasfilm has narrowed down their massive search for someone to play the young version of Harrison Ford’s character because Han could make a brief cameo in December’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

As for that list, the actors still in the running are Miles Teller (Whiplash), Ansel Elgort (The Fault in our Stars), Dave Franco (Neighbors), Jack Reynor (Transformers 4), Scott Eastwood (Suicide Squad), Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson), Emory Cohen (Brooklyn) and Blake Jenner (Glee).

According to the report, Rogue One has about a month of filming remaining leading up to its December bow, and they want to cast Han in the next few weeks to squeeze him in the mix. How he’d fit in to the story—about the group of soldiers who stole the Death Star plans—we don’t know. It would almost certainly be unrelated to the main plot.

The currently untitled Young Han Solo film, written by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, begins shooting in early 2017. It’ll feature a story with Solo in his early 20s, about a decade before we meet him in A New Hope, and it’ll released May 25, 2018.
