When you’re walking through the set of a Michel Gondry film you can’t expect that everything is going to seem normal, or even make sense. Case in point, he’s currently shooting an adaptation of Boris Vian’s The Froth on the Daydream on location in France, where Yan-Alexandre snapped these photos of a series of utterly bizarre hacked-together vehicles.

The photos appeared on the french site Blenheim Gang and seem to show a bunch of European looking automobiles mish-mashed together, complete with steering wheels and gas pedals moved to the other side of the vehicle. Having not read the book we’re just going to assume the story takes place in an automotive utopia where concerns about aerodynamics and driver safety don’t exist. [Blenheim Gang via Coudal]
