When Waze got Arnold Schwarzenegger to add his voice to their navigation app, it felt like a huge deal. But that was before the company recruited the best damn narrator in the history of the planet, Morgan Freeman. Freeman’s deep, soothing voice can be accessed in Waze starting right now.
It’s a promotional gimmick for Freeman’s new movie, London Has Fallen, in which the Oscar-winner plays the Vice President of the United States. And yes, if that sounds familiar that’s because it’s a sequel to Olympus Has Fallen which saw terrorists invade the White House. Which was also the plot to White House Down. But now, it’s happening again. In London. The movie opens March 4.
But the headline here is Freeman, the narrator of The Shawshank Redemption, March of the Penguins, and a few dozen other films, narrating yet another March. This time, it’s to your March to the Office. It’s almost okay to find out you’re not getting home in time for dinner if Morgan Freeman says it.
If for some reason you haven’t already, you can download Waze here, and switch to Freeman by going to the Settings in the app, then Sound > Voice Language > Morgan Freeman. Enjoy!
