Spotify’s got a new feature called “Discover Weekly,” an automatically generated playlist of music that’s tailored specifically for you. For something made by a computer this playlist is pretty damn good!
The new playlists updates every Monday, and it’s generated using the music you’ve been listening to as a foundation. It also takes into account the taste of people who listen to music similar to what you listen to. If you like songs make sure to save them because come next Monday, the playlist will refresh anew.
The playlist is definitely targeted towards discovery—it was mostly stuff by artists I don’t ever listen to, or stuff I’ve never even heard before. But in listening to the music, it’s definitely all right up my alley.
According to Spotify, all users should have Discover Weekly within the next few weeks. In the meantime, here’s the playlist based on my humiliating musical taste.
