This picture shows the President speaking about health care reform at the Prince Georges Community College, in Largo, MD, last week. But the most striking thing about it? The fact that just one lone kid is really watching Obama speak.

The rest? They're busy capturing the action on their smartphones, tablets, cameras and camcorders. They're there, but not really there. Viewing the action through an LCD screen, they capture the moment for posterity, but miss out on some of the raw, visceral excitement that seeing something in the flesh can bring.

It's not a criticism; we all do it, from time to time. But, looking at this image, it somehow feels like that one young dude has it right.
