It was 10 years ago today that R&B singer Aaliyah was killed in a plane crash. What made her death so sad is that she and producer Timbaland were only scratching the surface of music that was weird, futuristic, and most importantly, fantastic.
Aaliyah had just finished filming the video for "Rock The Boat" when her plane crashed in the Bahamas. Who knows what would have happened if she was still alive to keep making music, but judging from songs like "Back and Forth," "One In A Million," "We Need a Resolution" and "Are You That Somebody," not to mention the endless stream of posthumous tribute mixes that followed, she probably would have a long, long career.
