Amazon Attacks iPad on Price, Doofusism

Amazon's Kindle ads have long gone after tablets over readability in sunlight. Which, fair! But now that its Kindle Fire is a glare-prone LCD turbo-tab itself, the company has chosen a new battlefield: price. Which, hold on a sec!

There's no question that the Kindle Fire is one of the great deals in tech. And it's inarguably cheaper than the iPad. But let's not forget that it's also significantly less capable than the iPad. It's smaller, it has no camera, it packs less robust guts. And the iPad is, believe it or not, also a pretty fantastic bargain. It's great for what it is, but you're basically making fun of a Lexus for not being a Kia.

Oh, one more thread has remained in the Amazon ad oeuvre : and very attractive bikini ladies own Kindles, awkward doofus dudes own iPads. Actually, that one holds up pretty well. [TNW]

Any Tablet is strictly a luxury item. If someone would love to have a tablet but doesn't have an extra HOUSE PAYMENT laying around the Kindle is perfect.

And honestly what does the Ipad do that the Kindle doesn't? Take pictures? My phone does that and it is in my pocket. Not sure what else it doesn't... So is the fact that it has a camera that i don't need worth an extra $300-$500?

Hell no. In my case there is no way i would spend $500-$600 on a tablet for each of my kids for Christmas last year. But $200 was a nice sweet spot for their big presents this year.

I was over my tablet fad within 2 weeks of playing with my Kid's Kindles. My laptop is a much better way to do... well, everything!
