It’s that time of year where networks reveal what shows they’re kicking out and keeping around. For AMC, that means calling it quits on the Anne Rice series Talamasca: The Secret Order.
The network opted not to renew the series for season two, telling Variety it was “proud of the series and grateful for everyone involved.” It’s the first cancellation for the Immortal Universe, whose other installments include Interview With the Vampire, The Mayfair Witches, and the upcoming Night Island. At time of writing, AMC appears to still be committed to the franchise, which is based on author Anne Rice’s fantasy horror series.
Released in 2025, Talamasca focused on a secret society of humans that monitored supernatural creatures, similar to X-Files. The series starred Nicholas Denton, Elizabeth McGovern, and William Fichtner and ran for six episodes. Interestingly, AMC’s statement went on to highlight the organization’s larger importance—as such, “future expressions of the franchise” could eventually feature the show’s characters in some capacity.
The Immortal Universe will continue on with Interview’s return in June, now rebranded to The Vampire Lestat. After that, Mayfair will return for its third season, which is expected to land on AMC sometime in early 2027.
