Holy neutered vampires, the SDCC New Moon clips play out like the cover of a romance novel. There’s cheesy dialogue, boys in crazy wigs, and obscenely gratuitous ab scenes. It’s soft core porn, and the Twi-hard crowd goes wild.
The best part about these clips isn’t the painted-on front of Taylor Lautner, or the oh-so-slow disrobing of Edward that reminds us of a pasty version of Phoebe Cates in the red bikini, but for some reason a shirtless and pale Pattinson conjures up thoughts of a shaved horse. No, it’s the comments from the crowd that’s truly the best part of these naked teen scenes. Your head is bleeding — uh oh, better take off my shirt. I’m going to end my life by taking off my shirt.
