Google is finally hiding your browsing history from your ISP, but you still need a VPN
p>Google announced on August 31 that Android 17 will support Encrypted Client Hello (ECH), a new internet standard designed to close a privacy gap that few Android users even knew existed. Until now, even with encrypted DNS and modern TLS enabled, your internet service provider could still see the names of every website you visited. Android 17 will fix that piece of the puzzle. It will not, however, fix the rest of it. Your real IP address is still exposed, and for that, you still need a VPN.
