It may not be a true-to-life Jurassic Park, but it won't be too far removed, either. Australian mining magnate Clive Palmer is in the midst of building two dinosaur-themed resorts, and he's just placed an order for 117 fully animatronic dinosaurs — including a 1.2 ton Brachiosaurus, a 22 foot tall Mamenchisaurus, and 68 foot long Apatosaurus.
Palmer's not a guy who thinks small — both in the literal and figurative sense. He recently announced plans to build a replica of the Titanic. It'll be called the Titanic II (duh), and it's set for launch in 2016. The ship will take the same route taken by its predecessor — well, minus the journey to the bottom of the Atlantic, of course.
As for the recent order, the new dinosaurs are headed for his resort in China. His other park, Palmer Coolum Resort on the Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane, will feature as many as 165 animatronic dinosaurs when it's complete.
