Blade Runner 2099, Prime Video’s upcoming television series, debuted its first teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con back in July. Now, at New York Comic Con, the show has debuted its first full-length trailer. You can watch it below.

Here’s how showrunner Silka Luisa described Blade Runner 2099 during its Saturday evening NYCC panel: “We are 50 years after [Blade Runner] 2049 and, bad news, the worst has happened. The replicant uprising that has been bubbling up in the films has taken place and the humans have lost. So the creations have surpassed their creators. And the series, the big question it asks is, ‘What happens when our time as a species ends?’ 2099 is taking place at a junction point when one species is ending and a new one is rising. The first film, something I loved about it, was that it was looking at mortality on a micro level. Roy Batty and the other replicants were fighting for more life. This show asks that same question but on a macro level. Mankind—what happens when we realize our time is running out? And are we going to accept that loss? Can we hold on to our humanity during it?”

In more concrete terms, the show follows Olwen (Michelle Yeoh), a Replicant Blade Runner who is days away from dying. She partners with Cora (Hunter Schafer), a human fugitive pretending to be a Replicant, to find a runaway with a dangerous secret.

It sounds like there will be plenty of intrigue in the series, but one thing we know for sure is that Harrison Ford, who starred as Rick Deckard in Ridley Scott’s seminal 1982 sci-fi film Blade Runner and Denis Villeneuve’s 2017 sequel Blade Runner 2049, will not appear in it. “Harrison Ford is not in the show,” Luisa said in September. “I feel like as a Blade Runner fan, I would want to know that, so I’m just gonna be a full disclosure: I wish, but no.”

Honestly, we’re not mad about it. Blade Runner 2049 did a beautiful job of bringing Rick Deckard’s story to a close; it’s time for some new characters to take center stage and explore a new era in the Blade Runner universe.

Blade Runner 2099 premieres on Prime Video on November 25.
