Buffalo is one of Japan’s largest peripheral companies (if not the largest), and this becomes apparent when we go from a Hi-MD player to the “PC-MV7DX/PCI” TV capture card in one day. TV capture cards get technical in nature, but this one has a feature that can be explained easily: it can convert video to the MPEG-4 format used by the PSP. Note that I say “convert” and not “capture” — because this is an MPEG-2 capture board and the PSP uses MPEG-4, a transcode (going from one format to another) becomes necessary. Hopefully, another company will come along in the near future and make a board that captures directly to the particular MP4 format. Having to convert videos for the PSP is sort of annoying.
