The Croods might look like your run-of-the-mill Dreamworks CG comedy, but stashed behind the cute laughs (and a few tired ones) is a wacky re-imagining of our past. The artists behind this movie decided to just throw out the traditionally-held perception of the paleolithic landscape and repaint it as a wacko hybrid world. The sea is the dessert, whales clomp about on feet, and birds swim through the air likes schools of fish. It’s actually pretty stunning and quite inventive. Check out this new world in these 8 clips.
