I recently heard a representative from Coca-Cola’s marketing department speak, and he told me the marketing philosophy of the old CEO was along the lines of “if it moves, sponsor it. If it doesn’t, paint it red.” It is only now that this is starting to sink in with me, as Coca-Cola in Japan has announced the “Coke Style” campaign. Not only can you win a limited edition PSP emblazoned with an annoying Coca-Cola logo, but you can win a copy of “Everyone’s Golf” completely adorned with everything from the world’s favorite soft drink. Personally, I think this would be much cooler if they just went ahead and made the PSP red; but you know how Sony is.
