Reporters from Reuters noticed a crack in the armor when they talked with Michael Dell about the possibility of his giant computer company using AMD processors. The Round Rock, Texas company has been using Intel chips exclusively for years, and although Mr. Dell didn't say he had current plans to use AMD chips, he did mention that his company didn't have an exclusive relationship with Intel, either. Apparently the success of AMD's faster but cheaper desktop processors has not gone unnoticed by the titanic Texans at Dell, Inc., who must certainly be tempted to employ processors that may give the company a further cost-cutting edge.
