Pac-Man’s creator, Toru Iwatani, allegedly carries his top secret sketches around with him wherever he goes, no doubt believing they’re safer strapped to his vest than locked in a vault somewhere. Personally, I believe they belong in a museum.

This is the first time Iwatani has shown the sketches off, while on a bus to the Festival of Games in the Netherlands according to the Dutch site Control-Online. In essence, these pencil sketches on graph paper are one of the first examples of digital art. Or, a prototype of digital art. Something like that, anyway.

Here’s a photo of Iwatani holding his prized sketches, while a sweaty, nervous gamer gets a bit too close for comfort. For more, check out Control’s site now. [Control-Online via Kotaku]
