Maybe we’re biased because we know Stephenie Meyer wrote the novel source material, but dang it if these new Host clips don’t have a Twilight twang to them.
All the notes are there: a slightly sepia world, completely nonthreatening violence, and a crap load of teen love and introspection. Not that that’s necessarily a bad thing — we liked the book, and besides, Saorise Ronan is always captivating. Here’s hoping this Meyer movie can bring a bit more depth to the tween romance. Or at the very best, not punish everyone for having sex.
