French bees unwittingly make blue honey from M&M’s

In France’s northeastern Alsace region, bees have been purloining the brightly hued, sugary waste products from a biogas plant outside of the town of Ribeauville to make blue and green honey. Where’s this rainbow sticky stuff coming from? Why, a Mars chocolate factory 62 miles away from these particular beehives. Unfortunately for the apiaries affected by this glut of psychedelic honey (and aficionados of variegated goo), there are no plans to sell it to the public. [Via BBC]
