The filmmakers behind Ghostbusters had a lot of challenges when it came to filming their climactic scene. For one thing, they had to make a giant marshmallow man dramatic and not simply silly. For another, they had to build and film a giant freaking marshmallow man. So how'd they do it?
CineFix takes us behind the scenes of Stay Puft's creation in the latest installment of the Art of the Scene series. The concept art process is particularly interesting; apparently, old Stay Puft could have been a more human-like sailor monstrosity. We're glad they didn't give him a creepy nose. And the shots of all the models that went into the marshmallow rampage are extraordinarily neat.
