HP Slate Promo: Camera and iTunes and Ports, Oh My

HP's rolled out another promotional video for their Slate, again—not surprisingly—highlighting its advantages over the iPad. Like a camera! A built-in USB port and SD slot! And... iTunes. Well, we'll call that last one a wash.

The previous HP promo video hit hard on its Flash capability, and this one does an equally nice job of showing off some very basic attributes that people might notice missing from their iPads. It's also notable for what's absent: we know there's Windows 7 lurking in there somewhere, but the HP TouchSmart skin seems to do a good job of hiding it.

There's still no official confirmation, but we're expecting the HP Slate to be available in June for about $540. That probably won't be too late to mount a serious iPad challenge, and it looks as though it definitely won't be too little. [HP via Engadget]

WHATS THE POINT!!!

The IPAD is supposed to be a a companion device, say if you have got a desktop computer eg Imac and you do not need a laptop but need something to use while on the move solution IPAD.

Thin light with amazing 10Hr + battery with a Crisp LED-IPS Screen.

This HP device is actually a replacement for a desktop and a Laptop or Netbook. So its actually trying to be all these devices.

Oh the battery life is probably going to be 4-6 Hours of use and the battery will need replacing after 300 charging cycles about 12-18 months.

At least you get 1000 charging cycles with the ipad which is 3-5 years of use.

OH A A BIG BUT WAS THAT OVERFLOW IN THE DEMO!!!!!!

Naughty naughty HP doesn't Apple have a patent on this. i think Apple Lawyers will be in contact soon.
