Even with gigantic stadiums dotting the earth, it’s hard for us to imagine just how massive the Empire’s Death Star really was. Over in California’s Legoland they recently added a scale model of the Death Star to their collection, and using around half a million bricks it still ended being only about eight-feet in diameter. It’s no wonder the Emperor didn’t build with Lego.
When completed the 1,900-pound model was surrounded in tiny Lego spacecraft recreating the epic battle from the original Star Wars movie as it perpetually powered up its super laser. And word has it that the Lego engineers made sure to cover up that thermal exhaust port to ensure all their hard work wasn’t turned into a pile of Lego rubble by an errant X-wing proton torpedo.
