Guardians Of The Galaxy 2

James Gunn ran a Periscope stream on Twitter, and discussed working with a smaller cast for the sequel, and his aspirations for the movie’s sense of scale:

People ask for so many characters to be in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ and they ask for so many actors who they want to be in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ but we actually have less characters in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ than we have in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 1’ because everything is just getting too sprawling and too crazy for me in these superhero comic book movies. There’s just too many characters so you can’t concentrate on one and really get to know that character, and I really want to get to know the characters that we know better.

Director Dean Israelite gives a status update on the movie:

I read the script and was really surprised by it and thought there was a really cool, contemporary, mature but still playful, buoyant and fun take on the material, and was updated in a really interesting way. It had this wonderful character that’s essential to going on a fantastic adventure. I was instantly drawn to it.

I remember it as a kid. I grew up with it in South Africa. When I opened the script I had no idea how it was going to be updated, and I was really impressed by it. So I put a really big presentation together, because I needed to win the job. There were a lot of guys going out for it and saw the potential in it, so I put a really big presentation together and was lucky enough to get the job. We’re in sort of a soft pre-production right now, doing a lot of design work and reimagining the world. It’s really cool and exciting.

X-Men: Apocalypse

A few pictures of the cast hanging out at the Montreal Grand Prix include Storm actress Alexandra Shipp with a shaved head, leading to speculation that the character will either be bald in the movie — or that Shipp has her head shaved to better fit a mohawk wig to recreate the character’s 1980’s punk look. Transformers

Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Ken Nolan have joined the writers room for the series. Akiva Goldsman discusses the group’s aims:

We’ve got a work space that is beautifully production designed to be immersive with a strong sense of the franchise history. We will look at the toys, the TV shows, the merchandise, everything that has been generated by Hasbro, from popular to forgotten iterations, and establish a mythological time line. It has been designed with a lot of visual help, toys, robots, sketches and writers and artists. After that super saturation, the writers will figure out not one, but numerous films that will extend the universe.

Fear The Walking Dead

Robert Kirkman discusses the time frame of the series:

I will say that [the show] will definitely progress. I will say that I don’t consider this show to be a prequel to ‘The Walking Dead,’ because there will be a point where a certain episode of this show will line up with season 2 of ‘The Walking Dead,’ and a certain episode of this show will line up with season 3 of ‘The Walking Dead.’ So we will be progressing through time to the point that we do pass the initial days of the outbreak. But how fast it is that we get there? That’s just going to have to remain a mystery.
