Mere moments before Apple shows its hand, and 9to5Mac has leapt in with a killer last-minute reveal. According to them, we can expect new MacBook Airs, Mac Minis and a brand-new Thunderbolt Display, with the following specs:
Mac mini Base model: 2.3GHz CPU with 2GB of RAM, and 500GB of storage
Mac mini: 2.5GHz CPU with 4GB of RAM, and, 500GB of storage
Mac mini server: 2.0GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, and two 500GB hard drives
MacBook Air 11″: Base model: 1.6GHz CPU, 2GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage
MacBook Air 11″: 1.6GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage
MacBook Air 11″: Built to order model: 1.8GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage
MacBook Air 13″: Base model: 1.7GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage
MacBook Air 13″: 1.7GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, 256GB of storage
MacBook Air 13″: Built to order: 1.8GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, 256GB of storage
9to5Mac’s sources claim the MacBook Airs aren’t receiving a Sandy Bridge update, instead bulking up with Core i5 and i7 processors. The Mac Minis are pipping them to the post with Sandy Bridge chips though.
Something new has wriggled its head through the dirty rumor-hill, and that is the Apple Thunderbolt Display, which will apparently be similar to the Cinema Display, only with Thunderbolt and a VESA-compatible mount. No sign of the white MacBooks, either—at least we don’t have too much longer to wait before all of these shiny new objects get made official. [9to5Mac via BGR]
UPDATE: Apologies, the Core i5 and i7 chips Apple will presumably be using are of this year’s Sandy Bridge flavor, and not last year’s un-Sandy Bridge.
