“Avatar: The Last Airbender in Concert” still has dates to go on its successful tour celebrating the animated series’ 20th anniversary, but fans of its sequel now have their own event in the works. “The Legend of Korra in Concert,” marking that series’ 15th anniversary, will hit the road in 2027.
A press release describes the show as “a breathtaking live concert experience that brings the groundbreaking sequel to life through a live symphonic performance paired with an immersive cinematic experience. Follow Korra, the rebellious next Avatar after Aang, as she navigates a world on the brink of revolution alongside Asami, Bolin, Mako, and Tenzin.”
The work of composer Jeremy Zuckerman and editor Jeff Adams, who both worked on Legend of Korra, propels the “two-hour visual journey in chronological order through all four seasons of the iconic animated series, projected on a full-size cinema screen. Audiences will experience the original dialogue and sound effects intact while a powerful live orchestra performs the legendary score in perfect sync with the action on screen.”
In the release, Zuckerman explained why he’s excited for his Avatar musical universe to get another showcase. “The music of The Legend of Korra explores a very different emotional and musical landscape than Avatar: The Last Airbender, blending orchestral, jazz, and electronic influences to reflect Korra’s more modern world,” he said. “Hearing that score performed live brings a new level of energy to the music and allows audiences to experience the story in a completely different way.”
Tickets go on sale July 17 on the official website; the dates kick off in January 2027. Stateside, it will hit up 20 cities starting January 10; in Europe, a 10-city engagement kicks off January 31.
