Hoping to get AMOLEDs (active matrix organic light emitting diodes) up and running for future mobile technology, LG and Kodak have united to “jointly evaluate” the displays.

The technology, which is thin with extremely quick response times, sandwiches carbon based films between two charged electrodes, one of which is a metallic cathode and one a transparent anode—like glass. The organic films have 3 layers and when voltage is applied, the positive and negative charges create electroluminescent light. Cool, but will it look good on my cellphone?
