Lite-On graces us with more DVD burning fun with the SHM-165H6S, a 16x dual-layer DVD burner that’s even compatible with DVD-RAM, a format that hasn’t exactly broken through to the mainstream. The drive uses SMART-BURN to help prevent burning coasters and SMART-X to automatically detect what type of media you’re burning, theoretically maximizing your burn speed. Yee-haw!
The drive burns pretty much any type of disc you throw at it, save for those pesky high definition ones. It’s available right now for around $50 at most online dealers. (How much does that out-of-focus guy enjoy burning DVDs?)
