The incredible collectible company Hot Toys just announced a brand new, limited edition figure, and it’s a weird one. It’s Michael Keaton as Batman, which is awesome. He’s in the classic, comic book-inspired blue and grey suit, which is different but kind of cool, potentially. And it’s inspired by Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, which is insanely confusing because, “What?” Then, on top of all of that, some of the photos are just plain creepy. So there’s a lot to dig into.

We can at least explain how and why this figure exists, though. Keaton’s Batman, of course, does appear in The Flash. And though he does not actually wear the blue and grey suit in the film, there is one shot where we see a whole armory of suits, and it’s in there. So this is one of those almost alternate universe figures Hot Toys does from time to time. Which we like. So let’s check out a few images.

Some of those look fine. It’s a little weird to see Keaton in that suit, but it’s also very fun in a “What if?” sort of way. Some of those interchangeable mouths, though. They’re terrifying. Haunting. Hilarious. We do not know what the company was thinking. Or, maybe, they saw a different version of the film than most of us saw? There certainly were multiple versions.

It’s also important to note that when Hot Toys releases photos of figures like these, they are all prototypes. So the final release is rarely exactly the same. But it’s close.

In the end, though, because this is a limited edition of only 1,500 pieces, it’s still likely to sell out and make a lot of fans happy. Even if you didn’t like the movie, it was great to see Keaton back in The Flash. And this is certainly a unique, unforgettable way to commemorate it.

The figure costs $285 and is available to pre-order now at Sideshow.
