A month after he personally seized the reins at Motorola's beleaguered handset division, CEO Greg Brown is already looking to hand off the responsibility—and maybe the flak?—to someone from outside. Maybe a new perspective is what it needs, all those RAZRs start to look the same after a while. Oh wait. [Into Mobile]
Motorola need to completely change their whole way of thinking toward their cellphone division to be successful. While SE and Nokia can get by with an evolutionary approach to most of their cellphone with better looking phone and a bit more functions. Motorola cannot really do that anymore because they are so far behind the competition with all that RARZ that is so 3 years ago.
They need a "dream phone" to start to showcase that they still have what it takes and have not lost touch with consumer. Easier said than done of course but they should know what we want. Look at Nintendo with Wii and NDS with years of experience in game player making, they decided to take a revolutionary approach to interface of the machine (game play) rather than the whole industry with just more graphic, it pay off big time.
