NHC has released the Muvia ADY-30512, yet another portable media player that's probably on the fast track to nowhere. The Muvia attempts to lure you in with its 512MB of built-in memory, which is expandable thanks to its SD/MMC slot, and 2.5-inch, 320x240-pixel resolution LCD. What codecs does it play back, pray tell? Pretty much everything you'd need, actually: the standard fare of MP3/WMA/MPEG-1 and 4, along with Divx and MOV files.

Like a certain other portable media player that was leaked earlier in the week, the Muvia has a pair of integrated stereo speakers, which must just sound terrific. Throw in the built-in microphone and the appropriate AV outputs, and you're well on your way to having another fun Saturday night alone in your bedroom.

The Muvia ADY-30512, powered by a lithium ion battery that's rated for six hours of video playback and 12 hours of audio playback, should make its presence felt in Japan for around $257. Too bad NHC's Web site crashes my Web browsers every time I try to visit.
