Many TV tuners cards and boxes have come and gone in the past few years, but I don’t think I’ve seen any that double as a home theater component switchbox. Novac’s “Media TVGate” is just that — although it costs like 19,800 yen, it is amongst the first external TV tuners to have a normal monitor passthrough and switchbox functionality. This would be nice for you jokers out there who insist on using the same screen for PC, watching TV, playing PS2, and whatever else it is you do. Up to five AV components can be connected to it in addition to a PC. Sadly, there is no DVI; those of you with LCDs that don’t have D-sub are completely screwed.
